Test Change!!

ONLY 1st and 2nd period will take the test on Wed. 3/7.  ALL other classes will take the test on the scheduled test date!!!  Reviews are due the day of the test.  This is due to the TAKS testing that will affect the 10th & 11th graders.

Remember...1st & 2nd periods need to meet in room 140 for my class!!!

Get your permission slip signed!!!!

Don't forget about getting the "Outbreak" permission slip signed.  This is a daily grade!!!!!!!!!  It is due Thursday 3/1 & Friday 3/2 :)

You also need to be prepared for the 3rd quiz over "The Hot Zone"!  This will cover section three of the book up to page 371.

Start the 5th Six Weeks off right!!!!!

Study for your exam on Friday 2/17 & 2/21.  This will be one of the first grades for the 5th six weeks!!!! 

Another Extra Credit Opportunity!!

One last chance to do extra credit before the end of the six weeks.  This assignment will replace your lowest daily grade with a 100.

Please do the Section Reviews for Ch 32 & 35.  Write each question and answer on your own notebook paper.

These are due next week: Feb 15th (A day, 1st & 5th) and Feb 16th (B day).

Vocabulary Quest!

On Tuesday/Wednesday there WILL be a pop quiz.  It will include our current material over animals but there will also be one or two old vocabulary words as well.  The old words will be anywhere from cards #1-124.  If you comment on this post and answer the following questions, I will narrow down this range.  The more comments, the more specific I will be in telling you which words they will be....

Questions:
1) What is your most favorite topic that we have studied this year in biology AND why?
2) What is your least favorite topic AND why?

If you competed in the local Science Fair and have not taken your board home, please do so by the end of the week.  :)

Extra Credit!!!

• Ok...since the quizzes over the past 2 days were HORRIBLE I am going to offer some extra credit.  I will not announce this in class until next week.  So, for those of you that check my blog you will have a few days head start on getting it done!! AND, when your parents ask you why you got such a horrible grade on the quiz, you can tell them that you are already working on bringing that grade up!  (Worry about your upcoming test first, then tackle the extra credit.)

• **Extra Credit**  To replace your lowest daily grade, complete the Section Reviews for Chapter 21 & 22.  There are 6 sections in these two chapters.  Write all questions and answers on your own notebook paper.  These will be due on the day of your next test. (See the calendar tab for that date!)

• Lastly, STUDY for your test that you have either tomorrow or Monday!!!!! 

READ...READ...READ!!!!!

Don't forget, your first quiz over "The Hot Zone" will be on Feb 1st & 2nd.  This quiz will cover pages 1-153.  Don't wait until the last minute to read this.  The quiz will be fill in the blank, short answer, multiple choice, etc.  AND....take notes over what you read!!!

Spring is here!!!!!!!

Well, it's a new year and with that brings lots of new and exciting things to Biology.  This semester we will be studyng all the kingdoms, dissecting fetal pigs, and preparing for the EOC.  It's gonna be a fun semester!!!
